Shortly after her statement, a man's voice can be heard in the background.
"Hi, are you Valeria?" the man asked.
"Yes," Valeria replied.
She then appeared to mute her microphone, and within seconds, gunshots were heard. Valeria was shot and killed, while the gunman remained off-camera throughout the video.
According to reports, the shooter fled the scene on a motorcycle.
In the final seconds of the livestream, Valeria clutches her chest and abdomen, suggesting she was hit twice, with at least one bullet striking her body directly. She eventually collapsed in her chair, visibly in pain.
The video ends as another woman’s face briefly appears on screen before cutting off.
Authorities in Jalisco State have confirmed that the case is being investigated under femicide protocols, which apply in instances where a woman is murdered due to her gender a rising concern in many parts of Latin America.
