According to a report by Hindustan News published on Thursday, May 15, 2025, a man identified as Ricardo Ruiz Velazco, also known by his alias El Doble RR, has been named the primary suspect in the fatal shooting.
Authorities in the Jalisco state confirmed that Ricardo had been in a romantic relationship with Valeria for several months. Early investigations suggest that jealousy may have been the motive behind the crime.

A man, disguised as a delivery person bringing a gift, entered the salon and suddenly opened fire, hitting Valeria multiple times. She was seen clutching her stomach, with blood dripping from her head, before collapsing in her chair.
After she fell, her phone was picked up and rotated by someone, showing a face on the camera believed to be the attacker before the live video was abruptly ended.
Authorities Suspect Femicide, Investigation Ongoing
According to Reuters, prosecutors in Jalisco state suspect the case to be a femicide, a gender-based act of violence against women. This theory is part of an ongoing formal investigation.
Prior to the attack, Valeria had mentioned during the livestream that someone was coming to deliver a “special gift”. Local media, as cited by the BBC, later reported that the man pretended to deliver the gift, but was in fact carrying a weapon.
As of now, the investigation is still active, and no official charges have been confirmed.
