Viral Moment: Influencer Sparks Debate After Bringing Giant Dog Into Plane Cabin | Gita Blog Sport
Gitablogsport.com - A surprising moment onboard a commercial flight has gone viral, capturing the attention of netizens worldwide. An influencer was seen bringing her massive pet dog into the airplane cabin, prompting a wave of reactions both in the air and online.
A video showing the influencer boarding with the enormous canine quickly circulated across social media platforms, sparking a heated debate among users.
According to a report by Dailystar.co.uk on Sunday (May 11, 2025), American influencer Pietra Luccas (27) drew public attention after boarding a commercial flight with her large Great Dane named Charlie.
The flight from San Francisco, California to Miami, Florida gained widespread attention after a video of the incident was posted on Instagram, amassing over 46 million views. In the footage, Pietra is seen conversing with cabin crew before taking her seat alongside her dog.
The dog, noticeably larger than an average breed, even appeared taller than Pietra when standing on its hind legs.
In an interview with Newsweek, Pietra explained that Charlie is a service animal trained to assist her in her daily life.
“I never have any trouble bringing Charlie on board. I always purchase three seats to make sure we don’t inconvenience other passengers,” she said.
She also added that during this particular flight, it was actually the cabin crew who suggested she sit at the front of the plane to give Charlie more legroom.
Pietra emphasized that Charlie is well-trained to remain calm during flights and typically just sleeps through the journey.
Despite her explanation, the video ignited a wave of criticism. Many social media users expressed disapproval of bringing such a large dog into a confined airplane cabin, citing potential discomfort or safety concerns for other passengers.
“This is just too much. Animals that size shouldn't be allowed on a plane,” one user commented.
“She’s being inconsiderate of others. Airplanes have limited space, and this could be dangerous for children or people trying to walk through the aisle,” another said.
Still, many others defended Pietra, arguing that as long as she followed the rules, paid for extra seats, and ensured the dog did not disturb anyone, she had every right to bring her service animal.
The debate highlights a broader discussion about the balance between individual rights and public interest, especially in shared spaces like airplanes.
While most airlines allow passengers to bring service animals, the size and type of animal often become points of contention.
As of now, the airline involved has not released an official statement regarding the incident. Meanwhile, Pietra remains active on social media, frequently posting heartwarming moments with Charlie.
